Z Buffer Tutorial - Page 2
Select the near left side of the picture, and save the selection to disc.

What you're doing is saving the details of the area you have selected to disk. Not what was in the selection, just the size and shape of it. You can then load that selection in another image, rather then trying to reselect it manually. This way, you can get from the template exactly what you need to represent the area you had selected on the picture, rather then trying to guess and trimming it down and things like that.

Open the near wall template, load the selection, and copy it. (Load Selection is two items above Save Selection.) Then, paste the copied bit into the same position on the Z buffer of the block. This can be tricky in PSP because it places pasted selections in the center of the image. Rather than try and move it to the exact right place, after I've loaded the selection on the Z buffer template, I also select some of the top and opposite bottom corners of the template. Then, when I copy and paste into the buffer, It'll be in the right place automatically. (Just don't have the mouse pointer over the Z buffer image when you paste, otherwise it centers the selection on the mouse and not the image.

In the left image, the selection is loaded in the template. In the center image, two corners are selected as well. In the right image, the copied selection is pasted into a blank Z buffer image.
